Another addition to Mauricio Lorca’s superb Block One range.
The grapes are sourced from Mauricio’s vineyard at Vista Flores in the Uco Valley. Aged in new oak for 6 months.
Pale gold in colour with noticeable oak on the nose. Big and buttery in the mouth but not heavy. The oak is well balanced and integrated giving a full mouthfeel but still being clean and fresh on the finish, where the natural acidity from the high altitude of the vineyard cuts in cleansing the palate. More reminiscent of Burgundy than “new world” chardonnay.
This is very good wine and RRP is £20+. This is the end of the 2021 stock so grab a bargain while stocks last.

Martin has achieved something remarkable as these wines are fermented to full dryness yet only hit around 10% abv. The result is dry sulphite free white wine in a style I have not found anywhere else.
