This wine is superb! It is very smooth with balanced integrated acidity – something you never find in the vast majority of ruby ports available in the UK. Most port producers in Portugal use the “ruby” classification to sell off their bulk wine, as the port houses tend to be big volume producers. It’s great to get “ports” made by Carel Nel and his family in South Africa where they are handmade with passion and flare!
This wine sells out for us every Christmas. Indeed all the Boplaas ports will be in high demand as they blow the socks off their Portuguese counterparts on quality and value for money.
