This wine is something special - don't let the presentation fool you!
Delicious flavours - the Boplaas tasting notes below are very accurate. I got the candied citrus orange/peach//pineapple flavours. Good full body with weight on the palate, yet light and clean at the same time. Tremendous length, certainly 30 seconds plus on the finish. This is seriously good wine, and excellent value as this is a full 75cl (most premium dessert wines tend to be 500ml).

Crafted from a patch of vines planted in 1979 by Boplaas patriarch Oupa Danie Nel, the Boplaas Heritage White Muscadel 2012 perfectly reflects the character of the gnarled low-yield Calitzdorp vines from which it is borne.
Tasting Notes
Intense citrus, candied pineapple, ginger honeysuckle and plump apricot greets the taster, while the palate is full and lengthy, yet lifted by bright acidity and rounded off with a spice notes.
Food suggestion
Deserving of careful cellaring over the next few decades and paired with traditional Cape Malay favourites, comforting Cantonese or simply chilled on its own. A mere 3300 bottles of the 2012 Novare SA Terroir Awards 2013 medal winner for the Klein Karoo region were bottled.
