This is Atamisque's premium Malbec. It is excellent!
Atamisque is a fabulous winery set up by a French couple focussing on making real wine in a more natural style. They hand pick into small boxes to avoid damaging the grapes. They designed the winery to work on a gravity feed system too, so they wouldn't need to pump the wine around or handle more than necessary. This resultant Malbec is excellent.
Floral on the nose. Dark opaque plumb colour with big legs sticking to the side of the glass. Assorted black fruit flavours with vanilla and a very long, dry finish. Full in the mouth and velvet smooth. Hand picked grapes from high altitude vineyards (1100m above seal level) The wine is aged for 14 months in new French oak.
Made with grapes from a 100 year-old vineyard of La Consulta (Uco Valley).
14 months in new French oak barrels (Taransaud).
