Tampesta Maneki D.O Tierra de Leon
Tampesta Maneki is again made from the Albarin grape, although aged for longer on the lees to impart complexity and body. There was also a brief spell in oak.
The resultant wine is lovely. Full, rich and round in the mouth with noticeable peach flavours, ending with a long nutty finish. It is “gourmet” in style ideally paired with cured meats and good cheese. If you prefer a lighter fresher style of wine then opt for Tampesta’s Albarin instead.
Here they have aged some of their excellent Albarin on the lees and again in oak for a few months, to produce a lovely full flavoured wine.
