Domaine Mayrac Organic Savoir Etre Blanc
This wine has been renamed and used to be their Milesime Blanc.
A delicious blend of Chardonnay and Chenin Blanc (and Mauzac) aged in oak. Light in colour with a fresh nose. Citrus fruits on the palate, yet full and creamy in the mouth with noticeable oak. Plenty of body but very clean and fresh on the finish.
The Limoux region became famous for it's excellent Chardonnays fermented in oak, and is today recognised for producing the finest Chardonnays in France after Burgundy. They were so good that the French authorities created the AOC Limoux as they were too good to be sold as Vin de Pays!
Mayrac's notes say:
"A selective hand-harvest with a barrel-aged in a traditional way for 12 months enables us to create this wine, vinified with grapes picking always in the same vineyards. The Savoir Etre blanc vinified with Chenin and Mauzac and Chardonnay gives body and fatness,"
