Aniello Pinot Noir

93 Points James Suckling

Bodega Aniello Pinot Noir is probably our best pound for pound Pinot on the site. Patagonia produces much of South America’s best Pinot Noir, and this one is the best we have discovered.

Full of ripe fruit, medium bodied with the fruit and tannins in balance. Great mouthfeel with a silky smoothness. Excellent wine.

Bodega Aniello is a fantastic new winery on the Rio Negro in Patagonia, crafting delicious, quality wines. Although the business is new, their first vineyard named "006" was planted back in 1998 so the vines are producing mature fruit. Bodega Aniello is a small group of people with Italian heritage, passionate about showing off Patagonia's natural talent for quality wine.

All grapes are hand harvested. This Pinot Noir is very good indeed. Good Pinot from Argentina is not common, but Aniello have produced a fantastic wine here, and at a great price. Soft with plenty of red fruit balanced by some minerality. I was very impressed by this wine and would encourage any Pinot Noir fans to give it a go.
