Costes Cirgues Saint Cyr sulphite free wine
Deep opaque ruby in colour. Swirl it round in the glass and the nose really opens up. Big damson and plum flavours in the mouth. Very smooth and balanced.
Costes Cirgues website states:
Saint Cyr is a specialty wine that fully reflects the very typical nature of the vintage. This cuvée is marked by the qualities, yields and winemaking techniques that characterize all our wines. Saint Cyr therefore embodies the overall consistency of the range and highlights the influence of the vintage on Costes-Cirgues.
Grape varieties: 100% Grenache Noir
Surface: 1.5 ha
Yield: 40 hl/ha
Harvest: Manually in picking crates
Vinification: The grapes are de-stemmed and vinified in thermo-regulated concrete tanks. Daily punch-down of the cap allows gentle extraction of the aromatic compounds and polyphenols. No added sulfites.
Tasting: The Grenache Noir grape is what gives this wine its purple-red robe. Its bouquet reflects the scents of the garrigue accompanied by black berry fruits. In the mouth we find blackberry and bilberry flavors bursting with freshness. A rich, delicate, gourmet wine that elegantly showcases a variety typical of the region.
