Tampesta Roble D.O Tierra de Leon
This artisan Tampesta Prieto Picudo Roble is from the DO Tierra de Leon in North Western Spain. It is a beauty. Not big and powerful, more subtle, soft and smooth with great overall balance. We focus heavily on natural wines that are easy to drink, harmonising with the body and this is one of our best finds this year. The wine is made by expert Galician winemaker Luis Buitrón, vice-president of the Spanish Federation of Winemakers and president of the Association of Oenologists of Galicia. Highly recommended.
A winery founded by two brothers in 2000 producing distinctive artisan wines from local grape varieties native to the Leon region, including this Prieto Picudo Roble and also a white grape - Albarin otherwise known as Albillo. This wine has been lightly oaked, and is a beautiful example of an artisan natural wine.
