Riglos Gran Cabernet Franc

I love the wines from Riglos, but then again I haven't found any wines from the Uco Valley that have disappointed. This valley really does produce the best grapes in all Argentina and they are in huge demand from other wineries. A vineyard owner could make a good living never making any wine, just selling his grapes on. But Dario Werthein and Fabian Suffern didn't do that, instead they hired oenologist Pulqui Rodriguez and winemaker-consultant Paul Hobbs and set out to make the very best wines possible.

This Cabernet Franc is yet another great wine, big dark and brooding. Deep purple in colour with an inky consistency, more Petit Verdot than Cab Franc. Huge flavour, velvety smooth and a very long finish. 22 months in French oak. This is not a shrinking violet! These Riglos wines are amongst the very best we have discovered from Argentina.
