Not only has his Shiraz won multiple awards each vintage but so has his Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and his blends. Composition:
100 % Shiraz (Argentinean Clone 9, French Clone 174 & French clone 99)
Tasting Notes:
Deep brooding purple colour. Spices and black pepper on the nose. Full palate with smoky fynbos. Tangy tannins with a savoury aftertaste.
Maturation:
12 Months in 35% new wood, 25% second fill, 25% third fill and 15% French oak barrels. Two rackings during wood maturation. Thereafter bottled without filtering or fining. Natural deposits may therefore be found in the bottle. Can be enjoyed now but is anticipated to reach its optimum in 3-6 years time.
