Best Cape Ruby Port @ Cape Port & Wine Challenge 2017

This wine is superb! It is very smooth with balanced integrated acidity - something you never find in the vast majority of ruby ports available in the UK. Most port producers in Portugal use the "ruby" classification to sell off their bulk wine, as the port houses tend to be big volume producers. It's great to get "ports" made by Carel Nel and his family in South Africa where they are handmade with passion and flare!

This wine sells out for us every Christmas. Indeed all the Boplaas ports will be in high demand as they blow the socks off their Portuguese counterparts on quality and value for money.

Platter 4.5 Stars

Yet another fabulous fortified dessert wine from Boplaas. This is the 2015 vintage of their Hanepoot which was planted in 1932.

Beautiful wine, intrense flavours and a really long finish.

(Please note like most dessert wines it is not a 75cl, but 500ml bottle).
