Western Australia Boutique Wine Show - Gold

James Kellie was the contract winemaker at Harewood then in 2003 he bought the place with a little help from his family. Since then he has won 31 national and international trophies and literally hundreds of medals for his handcrafted wines. The grapes are all sourced from low yielding vineyards from the best areas for cool climate grapes in all Australia. Harewood has also been awarded the coveted 5 Red Star rating from James Halliday for a "consistent record of excellence".

Five Red Stars "Outstanding Winery... James Halliday 2006 to 2016 Australian Wine Companion

Again we have sourced a small parcel of this wine from the 2008 vintage. Please note this wine is cool climate (for Australia) and is a more restrained style than the likes of Barossa for example. It is more European in style rather than a big fruit bomb!

The grapes were sourced from low yielding vines in Frankland River and Mount Barker which are regarded amongst the best sites for Shiraz in all Australia. The wine was matured for 24 months in French oak barriques, both new and one year old.
