Frey Sauvignon Blanc sulphite free wine
Due to a technical issue with our organic licensing body for importing organic wines from outside the EU, we have had to have our latest shipment of Frey wines declassified from organic to non organic to clear Customs and meet EU regulations. We had to do this to avoid them being stuck in port for weeks while we sorted out this mess. Hence we are not permitted to market them as organic or even to describe them as organic. We will also be making changes to the physical labels on the bottles to remove the word organic. We apologise for any disruption this may cause and for defacing the labels on these superb wines.
This is our biggest selling sulphite free white wine. Soft and fruity, easy drinking with a slightly nutty finish.
Frey's website states:
"Our climate ripens Sauvignon Blanc grapes with hot days and cool nights, making wines that have tropical aromas of pineapple and passion fruit with a lemony finish and gentle acidity. The wine is bright and clear and excellent paired with spicy Coconut lemongrass soup, sushi or a Sunday brunch."
Some of the Frey whites are bottled under harmless CO2 to keep out oxygen, so it is possible a tiny amount will have dissolved in the wine. When you open a bottle you may notice a slight fizz - give it a few minutes to aerate and this CO2 will evaporate. Some of their whites are also bottled either unfiltered or with only a very light filtration to preserve the natural goodness and flavours, so there could be some sediment or at cold temperatures a slight cloudiness to the wine. This is perfectly natural.
