Domaine Mayrac Organic Arinarnoa
A soft and smooth organic wine made from a unique grape which is a hybrid of Merlot and Petit Verdot.
Organically certified by Ecocert.
Arinarnoa is a grape native to the Limoux region of France. For this wine it was oak aged. Ruby in colour with red and black fruit on the nose and a hint of mint. On the palate it is soft and mellow with light fruit flavours. Very smooth and well balanced (as there is no added tartaric acid).
2014 vintage, Free SO2 17mg/l
"The Arinarnoa variety was created by an hybridisation of two grapes : Merlot and Petit Verdot, in 1956, by the basque Pierre Marcel Durquety. Nowadays, this atypical grape has not been wide-spread, and its cultivation remain confidential, only 148 ha have been cultivated in France (during 2004). It grows with shoots as well as long and curbed tendrils, in an unregulated manner, but enables us to produce this cuvee, non standard wine thanks to its concentration and rich flavours. As “Le Fantasque” will get oxygenated in your glass, it will reveal its charm through a multitude of unexpected aromas."
