Colmant Brut Rose
A fantastic Brut Rose "champagne" from Colmant.
International Wine Review 90/100
Platter 4 Stars
Pale copper in colour with very small bubbles. Flavours of red berries, good natural acidity making it very smooth. This wine is very "moreish"!
Pinot Noir 75%, Chardonnay 25% (Franschhoek, Robertson and Elgin).
15% of the blend is made of reserve wine from the previous vintages and 15% of the base wine is barrel fermented.
This wine spends a minimum of 24 months on the lees at a consistent temperature of 14C before degorgement.
Lovely salmon pink colour. A very delicate nose of strawberry and redcurrant fruit with floral undertones. There is a silky richness on the palate full of red berries balanced with a subtle bready texture. Very accessible. Will also develop nicely over time.
Extremely limited to only 120 bottles for the year!
On the eye: A charming salmon pink colour, with a gentle glow of amber highlights, illuminating the persistent stream of bubbles.
On the nose: The delightful aromas of wild strawberry and redcurrant fruit infuse the scent, fol-lowed by delicate floral notes.
On the Palate: A beautiful silky richness softens the palate with a succession of taste sensations, from red berry explosions to a subtle creamy texture.
