Amarone Sergio Zenato Riserva
Sergio Zenato's personal Riserva Amarone is something special. We've been stocking it for years and enjoyed many great vintages. It is the one wine we turn to when we decide to treat ourselves to a special wine. Sergio Zenato sadly passed away a few years back, so this wine is now made by his son Alberto. It is still extremely limited of course and made to honour the great Sergio Zenato who is one of the all time great exponents of Amarone.
Wine Spectator 93 points
Wine Enthusiast review (94 points):
"Black plum, prune, tobacco, mocha, dark chocolate, Mediterranean herbs and black pepper characterize the nose of this full-bodied, opulent wine. The palate is exceedingly rich but balanced, with just enough fresh acidity and round, velvety tannins. Impressive intensity continues to the finish. Drink through 2020."
