Boekenhoutskloof The Chocolate Block 2011 75cl

Boekenhoutskloof The Chocolate Block 2011 75cl

Boekenhoutskloof The Chocolate Block is one of Boekenhoutskloof's most successful wines. The Chocolate Block is a delicious blend of 5 traditionally French grapes which produce a wonderfully smooth wine with good fruit and dark chocolate flavours.

Mark Kent, Boekenhoutskloof's winemaker, is widely regarded as one of South Africa's leading winemakers. His wines are consistently excellent and regularly attract awards including perhaps the most reliable of all for South African wines - John Platter ratings.

Both Boekenhoutskloof's Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon achieve a minimum 4 Star rating, quite often 5 Stars putting them right up there with the best of South African wines. Boekenhoutskloof also produce some very drinkable wines at the affordable end of the market such as their Wolftrap wines, and their Chocolate Block sits somewhere in the middle. It's a really good quality wine at a mid price point. Perhaps a little more than most of us would want to spend on an everyday wine, but certainly an affordable treat.

The Chocolate Block is a huge seller for us. Despite receiving the 2nd largest allocation in the UK we could easily sell twice as much as we can lay our hands on. I believe it's success is down to firstly the wine being delicious, but also the name and the presentation. People who try it certainly remember it.
