Cape Point Noble Late Harvest 2002 50cl

So limited it hasn't been entered for any awards!

12.5% abv. Predominantly Semillon with a small amount of Chardonnay and Sauvignon, barrel aged for 12 months. A tremendous, complex dessert wine with big lush fruit flavours of peaches and honey, then layers of different flavours. It also has relatively low residual sugar and good acidity leaving a crisper but very long and rich finish. Superb. Limited availability. Presentation is stunning too. This was the only phot

Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Passito 2005 'Tordiruta' 50cl

12.5% abv. IWC 2007 - Silver Best in Class, Gambero Rosso 'Due Biccheri' IWC Silver What a fantastic wine. This is one of the most beautiful dessert wines I have ever tasted. Late harvested grapes from 30 year old vines are dried for 10 weeks prior to fermentation, then refined for 12 months in barriques and aged in bottle for a further 12 months. Truly beautiful wine with fantastic length.

Susana Balbo Virtuoso Malbec Dessert Wine 2006 50cl

14%abv. This is something a little different. It's a delicious sweet red, in the style of a Reccioto della Valpolicella, one of my favourite dessert wines. While there's plenty of sweet fruit, it's not as heavy or cloying as a traditional Sauternes, just light and delicious, particularly good with chocolate desserts and I would imagine perfect with Black Forrest gateau. Jancis Robinson describes it as 'heavily baked apple juice, dark and tawny. Great stuff'. It's a great alternative to the traditional port for the impending festive season.

Vin Santo Avignonesi 1992 3 x 37.5cl

95 Points Robert Parker. 97/100 Wine Spectator

One of Italy's best and most sort after dessert wines. Extremely rare.

This wine is kept in bond and is 'to order' only, taking a few days. We regret we can't split the cases of 3 and sell them in singles.

Moscato D'Asti DOCg Batasiolo 2007 75cl

5.5% abv. This is a delicious dessert wine, in a lighter style. Don't be put off by associations with the name. I actually tasted this wine out at Batasiolo's winery in Alba, straight from the tank. They use temperature control to stop fermentation at the optimum time, to maximise the true flavours of the grapes. This explains why it's only fermented to 5.5% abv.(Sadly our Chancellor has changed the rules so this wine still attracts a whopping £1.58 duty, plus vat, the same as a full strength wine). The wine has lovely sweet flavours but is quite light and slightly frizzante (sparkling), unlike the more traditonal viscous dessert wines. I love it at the end of a meal and, as I'm usually a little tipsy from too much Amarone, it's low enough in alcohol that I can keep drinking it without moving onto coffee. I highly recommend it!
